Hello everyone from Housing and Dining Services!
As we kick off a brand new academic year, we want to take a moment to welcome you all back to campus. We are incredibly excited to see familiar faces and can’t wait to get to know all the new students joining our community this fall.
World Cup Food Fest
We hope everyone enjoyed last Friday’s (Oct. 2) Food Fest! It was fantastic seeing the community come together to enjoy our World Cup finalist and champion-themed foods, as well as the special late night snacks.
Exciting Pop Ups
We have so many fun pop up events planned for this year. Please keep a lookout on dining’s Instagram for regular updates on when and where these will occur so you don’t miss out on any of the surprises we have in store.
Sustainability on the Menu
We want to formally announce our partnership with Klimato! You may have already noticed the new emission letter grades on menu items (A-E) in Browne Dining Hall. This is a way for us to keep track of our carbon emissions and understand how food selection impacts our environment. Organized in proud collaboration with the Caltech Graduate Student Council (GSC) and Plant-Based Caltech (PB Caltech), we hope this framework provides an easy way to measure which foods have a larger carbon footprint during your day-to-day meals. We will continue to build on this partnership as we strive to make positive changes and have a better environmental impact in all that Dining Services does.
